Bass Furniture was glad to design, produce and install this momentous torah ark. Alone HaBashan is only about fifteen minute drive from the studio and close to our hearts. The carving detail in the middle was hand sculpted by Cathy Kerner, who lives in Jerusalem. Inside the large doors will be a hand made parochet. Behind the parochet is a safe designed and built by a local metal craftsman with sliding doors.

This exciting project was custom designed based upon historic representations from synagogues in the area in ancient times. Our artists worked in conjunction with the sponsor and the interior design team elected by the synagogue. The work included the design, production, and installation of a six meter tall wood aron kodesh. The design also features contemporary craft details. Located in the far north Golan, the moshav is known as Alone HaBashan, the Oak tree of the Bashan (area). The community chose to have the ark built from alone (oak) and with details representing a tree reaching out her branches.
