Pillar of Water and Fire

**Share This Product:

The hand blown ner tamid tells the story of the pillar of light that led the Jews through the desert. The pillar of cloud would appear during the day, and at light it would appear as a pillar of fire.  A timer can be set to two lights to light the blue glass in the day and the amber at night, changing the feel of the entire space depending upon the time of day.

The pillar would rest over the holy ark. When the pillar would rise and move, the Jews would follow, until the cloud came to rest once again, and the people would encamp. The light was always with them. This was the original ner tamid, or eternal light, which was replaced with a sacrificial lamp in the Bet Hamikdash.
