Children's Chug

This chug is one of the most enriching after school activities for children. (Parents are welcome and encouraged to join as well.) It is important to train our hands in hand-eye coordination from a young age. It is particularly gratifying for children, as it is for adults,  to create products with our own hands. The Jewish Artist Center is an organized, clean, and safe environment to explore young creativity.

Children sample many materials and techniques. The curriculum flows with the abilities and desires of the participants. Each chug will have the opportunity to learn how to make glass beads, sculpture and glass blowing. We offer wood working, carving, and hand tools. And work with other materials, such as paper. We have been known to even make such interactive products skateboards, kites and hot air balloons.

Although we try to arrange groups around ages and experience, it can be just as rewarding to have children of all levels working together. All ages are welcome from five years old.

The Jewish Artist Center offers a variety of courses for all ages and skill levels, from one hour workshops to year long weekly courses. We work individually with each student to help shape the curriculum and projects based upon their goals and abilities. In our classes, you design and build projects that are meaningful. Guided by our professional staff, you will quickly learn the tools and skills necessary to improve in the technical and creative process. You return home with work that you have made. We are glad to customize the curriculum of any course to suit the needs of our students and offer private/group workshops and courses as well.
