We have years of experience designing tansu traditional wood cabinetry of Japanese origin. Tansu cabinets consist of a set of boxes of various sizes, allowing the cabinet to be set up in various arrangements. These boxes are built to intimately store our precious items in an organized way, while giving the flexibility to easily disassemble for moving and rearranging for versatile set up patterns and uses. Each project in carefully designed with three-dimensional rendering and detailed shop sketches before production. All work is crafted with an attention to detail at Bass Furniture studios in Mata, Israel, between Jerusalem, Bet Shemesh, and Gush Etzion. All cabinets are produced from solid wood with dovetail joinery, and features hand crafted copper plate work and hardware. The copper plates, hinges, and pulls are hand forged.
